FDS-301 Color Visual Flame Detector

  • Flame Detection in a CCTV Camera
  • Saves on maintenance and installation costs
  • Superior False Alarm Immunity. Immune to common sources of unwanted alarms such as Hot Work, Hot CO2 emissions and Flare Reflections.
  • Extended field of view compared to conventional flame detectors
  • Live video image from each camera provides more information for the operator and more time to take action
  • Longer Detection Range than conventional flame detectors. Saving installation costs.
  • Advanced Optical Verification with test facility that checks optics for contamination and obstructions in front of the window.

Communication Network

The MICROPACK CCTV Visual Flame Detection System uses a MICROPACK protocol on an RS485 network. The network supports up to 4095 devices on a single system. Each Flame detector includes a RS485 communication port that connects to a Micropack Hub Controller, each Hub control will support 14 detectors in a star configuration. Hub controllers can be connected together via their RS485 ports to allow more detectors to be added to a single system. The hub controllers may be distributed around a site allowing the detectors to communicate back to a central location using a single twisted pair cable; this reduces the cable requirement between local equipment rooms and the central location. As an alternative, this communication can be converted to TCP/IP and communicate via an Ethernet network.

Video Network

The MICROPACK CCTV Visual Flame Detection System is supplied with a video switching network which transmits video images along twisted pair cabling. Each video switcher supports twenty video switch inputs and is controlled by the hub controller via an RS485 port. The video switchers can be connected together, allowing more detectors to be added to a single system. Each of the video switchers may be distributed around a site allowing the video to be transmitted back to a central location using a single
twisted pair cable, this video signal can also be converted to TCP/IP and be transmitted via an Ethernet network.

Display and Alarm Handling Software

The CCTV Display and Alarm Handling Software (DAH) is a computer based graphical interface to the MICROPACK CCTV Flame Detection System.

This DAH software provides monitoring, control, configuration and diagnostic features relating to the operation of the MICROPACK FDS Flame Detector.

Features allow the software to be functional both as the main control room interface to the FDS, for use of a system operator, and also as a maintenance and diagnostic tool for aiding trained technicians and advanced system operators.

Designed to run on a PC, the software offers several advantages such as:

  • Windows structure
  • Provides operator with graphical features including audio and visual alarms, a graphical representations of where the devices are physically located, ability to view live video footage or static images from specific cameras throughout the installation
  • Wide diagnostic and configuration tasks can be carried out from the display terminal, such as: obtaining detailed device information and network performance testing at various locations.
  • Ability to run configuration tasks such as: network structure updates; uploading of
firmware data to update device software; and set up of device specific features from the display terminal.
